It’s time for another review of one of my leather jackets! This one is the womens leather coat, item LJ25. This womens leather coat is on the short side, suitable for both younger and older women.

Trim and sporty looking, this smooth and soft womens leather coat has a very warm thinsulate zip out liner that goes all the way up the sleeves. That makes it great for both cool fall days with the liner out, and cold winter days with the liner in.

It has a nice looking leather belt you can take off if you want. It also has a removable thick faux fur collar that really makes it look nice. You can stand the collar up to keep your neck and face warm. Or take it off if you don’t want that much around the collar.

This womens leather coat has two big outside pockets to keep your hands warm. The front zips up with a quality zipper. The leather is very soft and smooth yet can take a lot of wear.

It’s a great womens leather coat for cold winter days or just cooler fall days with the liner out. Makes a great gift for the little lady of the house, and looks equally well on both younger and older women.

Racer or scooter leather jackets

difference between scooter or racer leather jackets and motorcycle jackets

So just what is the difference between a motorcycle jacket and a scooter or racer style leather jacket? They both cost about the same, so that’s not it! They both are made for riding a motorcycle, and they both are made to protect you from the road and elements. I already made a post describing how a motorcycle leather jacket is designed and why they are shaped the way they are.

So if you want to read that one, click here for how a motorcycle leather jacket is designed. Now the scooter or racer style leather jacket is the same. Some call them a scooter jacket, mostly in the UK. The people in the USA often call them a racer jacket. The main reason for the difference in style is the type of motorcycle being rode and the type of person that rides those bikes!

Picture a big Harley cruiser bike. Normally you think of an older rider, maybe in his forties and up, sitting straight up or slightly back and enjoying the ride wearing his big motorcycle jacket. Now think of a younger hotshot riding his Nina performance bike. He’s leaned way forward, moving his body a lot as he zips around traffic and showing off. Two very different types of riders, and two different types of bikes. Continue reading Racer or scooter leather jackets

Do leather jackets keep you warm?

does leather motorcycle jackets keep you warm?

Hi everyone, hope your having a good weekend. I always go through my stats, which tell me what people are typing in to get to my little site here. That gives me a good idea of what people want to know. A lot seem to ask if a leather jacket will keep you warm. So I’ll explain a bit about that today.

Of course right now in the middle of summer you don’t need a warm jacket, but it will not be long before all you folks up north will be feeling cold. Since I’m from Vermont I know all about being cold! Plus I’m the type that gets cold easy, which is why my ass is down here in Florida. So, does a leather jacket keep you warm?

I wondered myself about that before I ever got my first leather jacket. Now as with anything, it depends on what kind of leather jacket it is, and what it has for a liner. Let’s just assume it’s a basic leather motorcycle leather jacket, or a bomber jacket. Those are the most popular and what most people are asking about. Leather motorcycle jacket zip out liners, good or bad?

leather motorcycle jacket zip out liner

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is going well. One of the biggest choices you have when buying a leather jacket is, do you get one that has a zip out liner or not? There’s a lot of fans of both sides to that question. People who love leather jacket zip out liners will never get one without, and those who hate them will never get one with them.

Let’s see just what are the different kinds of zip out liners, because there are differences, and why you should or should not get one. The two most common types of leather jacket zip out liners are the vest type and the full sleeve kind. The vest type fits around your body but does not line the sleeves, just like a vest, which is why it’s called that.

The full sleeve zip out liner zips the body part to the inside jacket, but it also has full sleeves that you push through the leather jacket sleeves and usually attaches to the ends by small buttons on the inside of the sleeve ends. So it’s like a thin full jacket inside your leather jacket. Now, why would you want a leather jacket zip out liner? Continue reading Leather motorcycle jacket zip out liners, good or bad?
