Back in Florida, ready to ride my Harley!

Harley Davidson motorcycles

Well I just got back to Florida after spending 2 months in Vermont. I had a good time up there. The fall foliage was great, the colors were very nice and bright. My mom was very happy to have me up there that long. Working on your laptop sure has it’s rewards, you can go anywhere and still be at work! I’ll try to post some more pictures I took up there.

But the last few days were damn cold, we even had snow! I hate the cold, which is why I moved to Florida. So I flew back on the first of the month and have been busy getting everything back in order with my life. It’s perfect right now down here, not too hot and not too cold. Fall is actually the best time for anyone to take a vacation down here.

I look forward to getting my Harley out and going for a nice long cruise. No, that’s not mine in the picture, I’ll post one of mine soon, it looks the same as that one, a nice touring bike. Winter is great down here for wearing your leather motorcycle jacket and going for a ride. Summer is just a bit too hot for leather jackets down here.

So anyways I’ll try to post more now that I’m back. Yes, I have to fill up my store area with a lot more stuff, I guess I’m going to miss the Holiday rush, I just can’t get it all together in time. But next year I’ll have my leather store much bigger. So look for more post in here, and more items added to the store. It’s good to be back!

Buying a colored dyed leather jacket

colored leather jackets

Buying a colored leather jacket, what do you look for as far as quality goes? How do they make colored leather jackets? Are colored leather jackets dyed, or are they painted? Well let me answer some of those questions! Now then, even your standard black leather jackets are colored in a way. That blue-black color most leather jackets have is not the natural hide color.

Lots of women like pink leather jackets, maybe a white leather jacket. If your getting a leather fashion jacket red, cream, blue and other colors are popular leather jacket colors. You can even get leather jackets that have several colors to it in the form of stripes or sections of the jacket. Continue reading Buying a colored dyed leather jacket

Getting an airbrush design on your leather jacket

getting an airbrush design on your leather jacket

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been late posting. I’m working on getting more leather items in the store, just takes so much time! Anyway for today I thought I’d talk about getting an airbrushed design on your leather jacket. Actually you can get a design on anything leather. Leather saddlebags look great with designs on them. So do leather vest, leather purses, even leather chaps.

But the back of leather jackets is what most people pick to have a design made. I use to run a leather store where I airbrushed designs on leather jackets. I also airbrushed monograms on luggage, purses and briefcases. Now, I am not very artistic, so all the designs I made were done by stencils. They can make even a non artistic fool like me look great!

See the design in the picture above? That was my most popular design, the double dragon. All of it was done by stencil, then covered with a clear coat. Leather jacket designs can really personalize your jacket and make it stand out. You can make a statement with it, show your pride, or just show off a beautiful picture. Fall foliage season in Stowe, Vermont

vermont fall leaves

Hi there everyone. Well as some of you know, I am taking a working vacation up in Vermont where I was born and raised. The fall is what I always like the best in Vermont. The winters are just too damn cold, which is why I moved to Florida. But I do like the fall with the beautiful fall colors. I’m going to be up here until Nov. 1st.

Last weekend I went with a lady friend up to Stowe, Vermont. It’s a popular tourist and ski town, and also has the highest mountain in Vermont, Mt. Mansfield. So we drove up to the top on the toll road, then hiked to the very top. However it was a foggy day, so the top was nothing but mist and fog. I took some pictures that you can see here.

The one above is at the very top, walking along the ridge line. Nothing but rocks, stunned firs and blueberry bushes. On a clear day you can see for miles and miles, it’s a spectacular sight. Needless to say, that was not one of those days! The picture at the very top is down the mountain more, where they are building a giant ski resort.

Finally the one below is of the gondolas that go up the mountain. They use those for skiing and summer visits. It was still a little too early for the peak fall foliage colors, this weekend and the next should be perfect. I’m going up in the hills again this weekend where I know of some great trout streams, ponds and swamps. I should be able to take some great pictures.

So that’s it, just wanted to share a few pictures. I’ll post the others once I get them. I’m still working on the leather store, I have so much to do, but I want to get out and enjoy the fall too! I should have some leather saddlebags and other motorcycle gear bags ready to sell soon. If you ever get the chance take a Vermont vacation in the fall, it’s great!

More leather information pages added

What’s going on everyone? I wanted to let you all know that I added a shipping, payment and returns page. I also added a privacy policy page too. So now I’m about ready to start adding my leather jackets, chaps and all the other leather apparel and items I will have in my leather store. Looks a bit funny to see those pages and no store!

But it all takes time, I’m working on 5 other sites, plus I have my regular writing job! I tried to make the shipping, payment and returns page very easy to understand by posing each answer as a question, like “do you ship outside the USA”? Which by the way, I don’t. I ship inside the USA by UPS. But if you have a P O Box I will ship your order by USPS. Shipping is free.

I spelled everything out in there for shipping. For the payment information I explained how I accept all credit cards, bank debit cards and paypal. Now, paypal is what I use for a merchant account. They are the ones that process the cards. But you do NOT have to have a paypal account. You just fill in your card information and they process it, simple as that.

For returns I explained all the details and what you have to do. No you don’t need to fax in your drivers license and fill out a 24 page form! All of it is pretty simple and fair. For my privacy policy, that was real easy! Since Paypal processes your card, I never have any of your account information. All I have is your name and address and email.

I’m not going to sell them or share them. Anything I have is going to stay right with me. So you can stop worrying about getting email spam from me or someone I shared with, cause I’m not! So, take a look at them and tell me if anything is wrong or if you have any questions. I put a contact form in each page for you. Now I’ll start adding my leather jackets and other leather items, look for them soon!

Leather jacket, chaps and apparel sizes

Hi everyone. Today I added a leather sizes chart in my pages. You can see it right over there on your left. Go ahead and browse through it if you want. I made it pretty detailed so you know just what to do. The leather items I will be selling all come from the same central wholesaler, even if the names on the leather items are different. What that means is that all the sizes are the same for all the leather items.

Different brands and manufactures often have slightly different ways of measuring, so a size medium in one brand may fit different than the next brand. All the leather apparel I will carry is from the same place, so all the sizes are consistent. Most of them are in number sizes. That is, instead of a small or medium they go by size 38 or 44 and so on. That is more accurate, as it goes by your real measurements.

Now there is one very important thing you need to know when picking a size for your leather jacket or vest. You measure the largest part of your chest area. Then you ADD 2 INCHES TO IT! What that means is, say your chest is 44 inches around. When you pick a size for your leather jacket, you should get a 46 inch one. That’s because you need to allow for clothes and bending. It’s always better to get one a bit too big than one too small. Some even get one 3 or 4 inches bigger than the chest measurement.

As for leather pants, those you measure around your waist, then get them the same size, or maybe one inch larger. But for leather chaps, you get them 2 inches larger. Most leather pants and chaps come long so you can cut them to the length you want. Cut them as your sitting down so you get them long enough, as they ride up when sitting.

There are more measurements for leather halters, shorts and so on, I put them all in the leather size chart. So skim through it and find out how to measure yourself to find the right leather jacket size, or for any other leather item. Let me know if you have any questions, and remember that if you have any doubts, always get a size bigger than a size smaller!
